Setting up shop in Santa Fe New Mexico on summer break in college!

About Rebecca
I have been drawing non-stop since I was a kid. Growing up, I took various extracurricular art classes beginning in first grade and continuing through high school. Itrained at Rhode Island School of Design, earning a BFA in Textile Design. There, I perfected my skills in many drawing, printmaking, and portrait painting classes and studied color and pattern in fabrics. Even now, I continue to enroll in art courses to hone my skills as a caricature illustrator, textile designer, and painter.
The summer before college in 1994, I started drawing caricatures at an amusement park in Allentown PA to support my college education, never thinking that it would become such a fun and enjoyable way to support myself for years to come. I have literally gone around the world to study the variety among faces of all shapes, ages, and colors, sketching on the streets of Ghana, Nepal, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, Finland, Russia, Italy, Holland, Greece - and the list goes on. Wherever I am, I strive to capture the spirit of the person sitting before me- whether it is the gleam in the eyes, posture, tilt of the head, or warmth in the smile. I really enjoy myself when I am drawing and take pride in my work.

Why Choose NYSKETCHES performers and products?
High Standards & Professionalism: NYSKETCHES maintains the same high standards for each artist or performer it represents, as Rebecca holds with her own caricatures and artwork. We have selected only the most professional, talented, and personable artists and performers we could find to work for NYSKETCHES. We make sure that every NYSKETCHES artist fulfills the following criteria:

High quality craftsmanship and materials: NYSKETCHES caricatures are funky, well designed, and we use only the best archival paper and drawing materials. NYHENNA artists can paint a range of simple to very intricate designs & use 100% natural henna (no black henna which can permanently stain skin). NYFACE painters use high quality hypo allergenic body paints that are made for the skin.
Approachability: NYSKETCHES artists are friendly, easy to deal with, and reliable.
Fast: Caricatures, henna body art, & face painting take only 3-5 minutes.
Excellent likenesses: In our caricatures, we really capture the subject's expression by paying close attention to personality and facial features. NYSKETCHES artists do not follow any specific drawing formula e.g. we do not give everybody a big chin, big nose, etc.
Sensitivity:
NYSKETCHES caricatures are very lively and charismatic yet, we are sensitive to the person sitting for us- e.g. we will not insult someone who seems timid.
